Find Out What Works

If you have already tried these ideas or if you are having a difficult time getting started, you may want to consider doing some sort of an assessment. This can be a very simple survey or a focus group.

Case Study:
EFTA conducted surveys with over 1,000 Latino adult respondents regarding their level of interest in nature and science programs, obstacles to their participation in outdoor education, language preferences, perceptions about participating in outdoor education, best way to market programs, etc. The responses helped us identify ways to develop programs and marketing for this audience. Consider contacting a school or organization about doing an interview with Latino community members.
