Join Orion Expeditions and birders Saturday, May 14th for a rafting trip and bird walk to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day 2016! The 3 hour program starts off by floating through the mellow and scenic lower Wenatchee River. After taking out at Walla Walla Point Park, we will transition into a bird walk through the wetlands of The Horan Natural Area, a local birding hotspot.
This special edition charity event was created to tie in aspects of recreation and environmental education, all the while building stewardship through community action and involvement. By developing knowledge of different migratory bird species inhabiting the Wenatchee Watershed, community members can become more naturally aware of the role these iconic bird species play in our local ecosystem, addressing the need for bird conservation, and habitat protection in our own backyards.
Ages 12 and up! Registration is $35 dollars. All of the proceeds benefit the 14th annual Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest, which is held May 19th-22nd in Leavenworth. Registration for the International Migratory Bird Day float is open now through May 11th. Please call Orion Expeditions at (509) 548-1401 for more information.
