To celebrate International Migratory Bird Day, the Center for Birds of Prey education programs, which already emphasize the importance of conservation, will include a focus on avian migration.
At certain times of the year you can view rare birding treats on the Center for Birds of Prey campus in Awendaw, South Carolina, including Painted Buntings, Indigo Buntings, Wood Storks and Roseate Spoonbills. We are hosting a two-hour walk on May 14th in search of these and other elusive migrants. Led by an experienced staff member, no experience is necessary on your part. Space is limited to 20 participants and advanced reservations are required. After the bird walk, guests are invited to join the regular morning birds of prey tour and flight demonstration at no additional cost. Tickets can be purchased online at www.thecenterforbirdsofprey.org or by calling the Center at 843.971.7474.
