Our four resident raptors (Sage the GHOW, Phoenix the PEFA, Erik the RTHA and Jack Sparrow the NSWO) are throwing a party to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the effective date of the Migratory Bird Treaty. The event will be on August 16, 2016 at the Chocolay Raptor Center, near Marquette, MI. The event will begin with a presentation on the Treaty, its role in protecting the birds, particularly raptors, and current state of the birds. George Shiras III will make a special appearance to talk about his role in drafting the treaty and his special connections to Marquette. We will then have a celebratory cake, and live music to dance to, featuring covers of Birds and Eagles hits. Public is invited.
