Informative Marketing Materials

If the targeted audience of your outreach is new to your programs, be sure to have pertinent details in your marketing material. Do not assume people know how to find your site. Include directions, maps, fees, information on public transit, and other information on what to expect. Consider including information about what gear or supplies are needed to participate in your activity.


  • When selecting photos for designing marketing materials include images of people of color.
  • Find out if Spanish language materials are needed to reach out to Latino families in your area.
  • Meet with teachers at schools with significant numbers of Latino students and ask about ways to reach Latino families. Schools can be great places to distribute flyers but this requires some legwork.
